Position: Intellectual Property Paralegal
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Intellectual Property Paralegal with strong experience in copyright and trademark filings, and a working knowledge of patent filing processes. This role focuses on managing and protecting Guru Nanda’s growing portfolio of creative, brand, and technical assets. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling filings with the U.S. Copyright Office, USPTO (TEAS and EFS-Web/Patent Center), and coordinating with external counsel on international matters.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file copyright applications with the U.S. Copyright Office for a wide range of creative content.
- File and manage trademark applications using USPTO TEAS and coordinate international filings through WIPO and foreign associates.
- Monitor and execute trademark renewals, post-registration maintenance, and office action responses.
- Handle chain-of-title recordation and ownership updates across copyright, trademark, and patent portfolios.
- Preparing and filing design and utility patent documents via USPTO EFS-Web or Patent Center.
- Assisting with Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), inventor declarations, and assignment filings.
- Coordinating with inventors and outside counsel to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
- Maintain a detailed IP docket of deadlines for domestic and international filings, renewals, and responses.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in IP paralegal work, with strong emphasis on copyright and trademark filings.
- Hands-on experience with TEAS, USPTO systems (EFS-Web, Patent Center), and U.S. Copyright Office filings.
- Familiarity with patent prosecution support, including filing basics and managing patent-related documents and timelines.
- Experience working with foreign counsel and understanding of international filing protocols is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with legal, business, and technical teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and IP docketing software (e.g., CPI, Anaqua, or similar).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
