This is an excellent patent attorney associate or patent agent opportunity within a very well established and booming practice. Your work will primarily relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents, patent opinions, patent portfolio strategy, due diligence, and client counseling, with the potential opportunity for PTAB work as well. This firm has a very impressive roster of high-tech clients. Here, your client assignment and responsibility will be commensurate with your interests and abilities.
For associates and of counsels, there are multiple tracks to partnership (equity and non-equity). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are important as client interaction and responsibility would progressively increase.
This firm has clients within variety of industries and has a strong flow of work relating to a range of technologies (e.g., cloud computing, SaaS, semiconductors, telecommunications, wireless devices and networks, electro optics, robotics, consumer and industrial electronics, high performance AI, computer vision, image processing and AI driven graphics, autonomous vehicles, medical devices, etc.). Here, you will need to have a strong technical background, as the emphasis is on efficiently providing quality work relating to complex patents and important patent families.
Your particular area of focus will be dependent upon your technical expertise. The areas of greatest need are people with (a) a strong computer science background who understand the entire software stack, in particular those who understand computer architecture and the software-hardware interface, and/or (b) people with strong telecommunications experience, in particular with respect to standards (e.g., 5G, 6G, 3GPP), wireless devices, and networks. Any combination of the above would be valued, as there is an abundance of work.
Patent Attorney Qualifications:
- Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or physics
- USPTO Patent Attorney
- A least 2 years of full time patent drafting and prosecution experience.
Patent Agent Qualifications:
- Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or physics
- USPTO Patent Agent
- A least 2 years of full time patent drafting and prosecution experience.
Of Counsel or Partner:
