Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Trusts and Estates Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support in managing estate planning, trust administration, and related legal matters. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
- Manage trust administration processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and client instructions.
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case preparation.
- Review and organize legal documents, contracts, and case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw.
- Prepare drafts of legal correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation with attention to accuracy and clarity.
- Coordinate client interviews and gather necessary information for estate planning or trust administration cases.
- Maintain meticulous records of case activities, deadlines, and correspondence to ensure timely follow-up.
- Support attorneys with litigation tasks related to estate disputes or trust issues when necessary.
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and managing phone etiquette to facilitate smooth office operations.
- Conduct legal research across various practice areas such as family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, environmental law, immigration law, and more.
Experience
- Proven paralegal experience supporting estate planning or trust administration is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of estate planning principles and UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code) as it relates to trust assets.
- Familiarity with legal case management software including Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, PCLaw, and document management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrated research skills across various legal practice areas such as family law, securities law, tribal regulations, patent law, and litigation support.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with clarity and professionalism.
- Experience in conducting interviews with clients or witnesses to gather pertinent information efficiently.
- Ability to perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, proofreading, transcription, and maintaining organized case files.
- Strong communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette to interact effectively with clients and team members. Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
