The Practice Support Services Department of Arnold & Porter is seeking a Senior Trademark Paralegal to support the Trademark Prosecution practice group in the Chicago, New York, or Washington, DC office.

Under the supervision of attorneys, the Senior Trademark Paralegal will assist with a variety of domestic and international trademark matters on behalf of clients and the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, filing, and maintaining trademark documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign trademark offices, including applications, responses to office actions, statements of use, extensions of time, notices of allowance, ownership or name changes, post-publication amendments, powers of attorney, petitions, assignments, and renewal filings (Sections 8, 9, and 15).
- Generating and reviewing global trademark search reports using SAEGIS and Corsearch.
- Preparing client cost estimate spreadsheets.
- Establishing and maintaining trademark files and related document collections.
- Drafting routine correspondence and communications.
- Managing docket entries, including tracking, clearing deadlines, and maintaining reminders.
- Communicating with clients and foreign trademark agents regarding filings and status updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; four-year college degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in domestic and international trademark prosecution.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic intellectual property resources, the USPTO website, and IP docketing systems such as Inprotech.
- TTAB experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a high-volume workload.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyze and address complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and collaboration.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $92,000 to $130,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
As a nonexempt position, this position is eligible for overtime.
The firm may provide a discretionary bonus annually.
