Treyz Law Group is a boutique patent law firm specializing in patent preparation and prosecution. We are seeking candidates with 1-3+ years of patent preparation and/or prosecution experience in electrical engineering, circuits, computer science, computer networking, and/or semiconductors.

Patent bar registration is not required, although candidates should plan to sit for the patent bar within 1-2 years of onboarding. Candidates with a patent bar registration will join as patent agents. Some of our senior patent agents also choose to attend part-time law school, but attending law school is not required.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Analyzing patents and other technical documents
Identifying distinctions between inventions and earlier publications
Drafting arguments and responses to Patent Office communications
Meeting with inventors
Drafting patent applications for new inventions
Interfacing with foreign law firms to obtain patents in other countries
Interfacing with in-house attorneys at our clients

Requirements

Undergraduate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar
Coursework or experience with analog and digital circuits, RF circuitry, semiconductors, electromagnetism, optics, computer programming, and/or computer networking
Prior experience working in patent preparation, patent prosecution, a law firm environment, and/or IP
Strong communication and writing skills
Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
