Role Description
This is a part-time, remote position. The IP Strategist & Patent Attorney will oversee the company's intellectual property portfolio and provide cross-departmental IP strategy alignment and counseling. Key responsibilities include providing strategic guidance on IP matters to multiple levels of stakeholder, collaborating with Research and Development (R&D) teams to guide asset pipeline development, and reviewing competitive IP landscape. This role requires collaboration across departments and ability to work flexible hours.
Qualifications
- JD degree from accredited law school
- Bar admission in at least one US state + registration to practice before the USPTO
- Minimum five (5) years of IP management/patent prosecution experience in the biopharmaceutical field
- Demonstrated ability in formulating and executing global patent filing strategies
- Proficiency in PCT and cross-border patent laws and regulations
- Advanced degree in biological, biopharmaceutical, or life sciences (Ph.D. preferred)
- Familiarity / prior experience with oncology, autoimmune, and/or metabolic therapies a plus
- Fluency in Chinese required, including proficiency in technical concepts of biopharma
