Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patent Docketing (Annuity) Specialist to support our Intellectual Property business.
Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for annuity management and deadline monitoring, ensuring that all annuity payments are made on time to maintain the validity of patent rights
- Communicating with intellectual property owners, agents, government agencies, attorneys and legal assistants involved in the maintenance of IP rights regarding renewal deadlines and requirements
- Entering time for tasks completed
- Reviewing and processing invoices for attorney approval
- Maintaining comprehensive database for patents, including registration details, renewal deadlines, and other relevant data
- Maintaining electronic files
- Providing attorneys and clients with docketing reports
- Preparing estimates
- Providing assistance and serving as backup for other Docketing Specialists and Legal Assistants, primarily the filing of PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) and foreign patent applications (will provide training)
Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 1+ years relevant patent experience preferred, but not required (willing to train)
- Proficient in various software applications: MS Office Suite (particularly Excel), Adobe/Nuance, docketing database software (preferably CPI annuity software, but not required), document management software (preferably NetDocuments, but not required)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions precisely

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
