Villegas & Cefo is a litigation boutique with an emphasis on intellectual property and complex commercial matters. Most of our work is federal in nature. Although we are small, our cases are of the complexity and size as those found in large international firms.
Description
We are seeking a patent attorney with significant PTAB experience, such as leading inter partes review (IPR) petitions and defenses. Other post grant proceeding experience and litigation support is helpful
A technical background in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics or electrical engineering is required. Moreover, high technical and analytical aptitude are necessary as this person will lead and manage post grant proceedings.
A successful candidate will have strong academic credentials, and possess large law firm (or top boutique) work experience, with demonstrable research and writing skills.
At this level, it is expected the candidate will have the ability to build client and peer relationships in a team-oriented culture.
A book of business is required ($175,000+) and will be reflected in compensation.
Responsibilities
- Possesses strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates a great work ethic and an ability to work productively both independently and cooperatively with other members of the team
- Produces high quality legal work and provides excellent client services
- Develops new business ideas through group and individual efforts
- Manages day-to-day and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression, from inception to conclusion
- Independently leads IPR and other PTAB proceedings
- Complies with the highest ethical standards of the legal profession
Work Environment
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Travel Required: Less than 15%
- Everyone from the founders to the newest employee are expected to assist where needed

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $230,000.00 - $390,000.00 per year
