Duties
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including preparing board resolutions, minutes, and filings
- Manage and maintain legal documents using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw
- Conduct comprehensive legal research across multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation law
- Review and draft contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence with precision and clarity
- Support litigation processes by organizing case files, reviewing documents, and coordinating with attorneys on discovery and case management
- Perform legal case management tasks such as data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and document review
- Conduct interviews and gather information from clients or witnesses as part of legal research or case preparation
- Assist with project management tasks to ensure timely completion of legal initiatives
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence related to legal matters
Skills
- Must have M&A experience
- Extensive knowledge of various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, family law, landlord-tenant law, personal injury law, immigration law, and workers' compensation law
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw for in-depth case analysis and statutory interpretation
- Experience with legal administrative tasks including document management systems (iManage), data entry, filing systems, and contract review
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail
- Proven ability to proofread and transcribe accurately while maintaining high-quality standards
- Effective interviewing skills for gathering pertinent information from clients or witnesses
- Familiarity with project management principles to coordinate complex legal initiatives efficiently
- Exceptional phone etiquette and clerical experience supporting attorneys or legal teams
