Position Summary:
The Paralegal / Legal & Compliance Support role provides comprehensive legal and compliance support to local operations. This position is responsible for implementing corporate legal policies, supporting contract management, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with cross-border teams and headquarters on legal and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Governance & Policy Implementation
- Implement approved corporate policies and SOPs at the local level
Contract Management & Administration
- Ensure proper use of standard contract templates by local business teams
- Support contract review, negotiation, and execution of local agreements
- Maintain contract records, track renewals, and monitor compliance with key contractual obligations
Compliance & Regulatory Support
- Support export control and trade compliance requirements
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Assist with license applications, regulatory filings, and compliance checks, particularly in support of future facility setup and operations
- Maintain compliance documentation and records
- Identify and escalate potential compliance risks or violations
Litigation & Dispute Management
- Receive and document claims or disputes
- Preserve relevant documentation and evidence
- Coordinate information collection and report potential risks to management and headquarters legal team
Training & Awareness
- Organize and support local legal and compliance training sessions
- Track employee participation and completion
e-Legal & Operational Support
- Provide real-time local e-Legal support
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day legal inquiries
Other Legal Support
- Provide additional legal and compliance assistance as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-border teams to support business operations
- Maintain close communication with the headquarters legal team and participate in meetings aligned with Taiwan time zone as needed
Qualifications:
Education
Candidates should meet one of the following:
- Law degree (e.g., JD, LLB, or LLM), not necessarily licensed as an attorney
Experience
- Approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience in a corporate legal, compliance, or contract administration role
- Experience supporting commercial contracts or corporate compliance activities
- Experience in manufacturing, technology, or multinational business environments is preferred
- Ability to coordinate with cross-border teams
Language Ability
- English: Professional working proficiency (written and verbal)
- Chinese (Mandarin): Preferred, to facilitate communication with headquarters and cross-border teams
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
