Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Florida Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared and organized efficiently. This position requires strong research skills, familiarity with legal software, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing case files and evidence.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules.
- Review and summarize documents for relevance and importance in relation to ongoing cases.
- Maintain case management systems using iManage to ensure all documents are properly filed and accessible.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and court personnel while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Manage project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks related to litigation cases.
- Collaborate with attorneys on patent law matters as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, including document review and legal drafting.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
- Familiarity with Aderant or similar systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
