We are looking for a detail-oriented Trial Paralegal to support our legal team in Columbia, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trial litigation and preparation, along with experience managing case files and working with discovery processes. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to complex legal matters while ensuring efficient case management.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research and compile relevant information to support case strategies.
- Manage discovery processes, including drafting requests, organizing responses, and reviewing documents.
- Prepare trial materials, such as exhibits, briefs, and witness lists, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and timelines.
- Utilize case management software to track deadlines, organize files, and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in drafting and editing legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information and facilitate case preparation.
- Monitor case progress and provide regular updates to attorneys regarding key developments.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and court regulations throughout all case stages.
Proven experience as a Paralegal, with a focus on trial litigation and preparation.
Proficiency in managing discovery processes and handling related documentation.
Familiarity with case management software and other legal technology tools.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple case files.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and coordinating with stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and other team members to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of court procedures and legal regulations.
Ability to travel throughout the US for trial.
Set up war rooms.
Be able to bill your time - 1800 hours annually.
Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred; certification as a paralegal is a plus.
