Patent Preparation and Prosecution – Patent Attorney/Agent (Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science)
Location: Full Remote; Hybrid; In office in Long Island, NY or Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, and with the position permitting the ability to work at any of these offices if working in office or hybrid.

Carter, Deluca & Farrell LLP is seeking a Patent Attorney, Patent Engineer, or Patent Agent with two (2) or more years of experience to join its Patent Preparation and Prosecution practice on a full-time basis. We are considering candidates for our Long Island, NY and Dallas-Fort Worth, TX office locations, and we welcome fully remote and hybrid candidates, including patent attorneys and patent agents located outside the United States.
Candidate will be primarily responsible for, but not limited to, preparing and prosecuting patent applications in electrical, computer, and mechanical technology areas before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), counseling clients on IP strategy, conducting patentability and clearance searches, and preparing related opinions.
Qualifications:
- Registration to practice before the USPTO
- Bachelor’s Degree (or graduate degree) in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of technology is a requirement
- At least two (2) years of patent application preparation and prosecution experience
- Excellent English writing and communication skills
- Ability to independently organize and prioritize tasks with deadlines
- Ability to professionally interface with clients and respond to questions
- Proficiency with written and spoken English is a requirement
- Proficiency with a language other than English is a plus
